Agree on the removal list with the family
Before scheduling, identify who can authorize the work and who needs time to collect belongings. Set aside photographs, documents, jewelry and keepsakes in a separate area. A room-by-room list is more useful than asking the crew to decide what has value. If several family members are involved, choose one contact to confirm changes to the agreed scope.
Photograph each part of the property
Include living areas, bedrooms, the garage and any separate storage area involved in the cleanout. Label rooms that should remain untouched and photograph large furniture individually. Tell us if an estate sale, family collection or other appointment will change what remains. Updated photos after those events help keep the quote aligned with the actual removal load.
Plan access and the property handoff
For a Scottsdale estate pickup, share the address, gate instructions, stairs and the route from each removal area to the loading location. Tell us whether an owner or representative will be present and who can answer scope questions. If a sale or property handoff sets a deadline, request availability early; a specific completion time is not guaranteed from photos alone.
Keep hauling separate from other estate work
The removal quote covers the agreed items and access. Valuation, legal decisions, document destruction, deep cleaning, repairs and utility work are separate responsibilities. Donation of particular belongings is not guaranteed. Identify specialty items such as safes or pianos for individual assessment, and discuss any additions before loading so the upfront price reflects the full task.
