Sectionals are the largest single piece of furniture in most Valley living rooms, and they are the piece most likely to have been assembled in the room rather than carried in whole. Between eight and fourteen feet of seating in two to five pieces means a removal is really several removals happening in sequence.
The connectors are the key. Most sectionals join with metal bracket hooks, cam locks or bolt plates hidden under the frame skirt, and once those are released each piece behaves like an oversized armchair. Chaise sections and consoles usually detach separately again, so a three-piece sectional often becomes five carries.
Where it gets genuinely difficult is power reclining models. Those add motors, transformers, a wiring harness between sections and sometimes a battery pack, and the wiring has to be unplugged in the right order rather than yanked apart at the doorway.
| Configuration | Size and total weight | Removal and space notes |
|---|---|---|
| Two-piece L-shape | 8-9 ft, 250-350 lbs | Separated at one connector; the most straightforward sectional job |
| Three-piece with chaise | 9-11 ft, 300-450 lbs | Chaise detaches on its own; typically a quarter to half load |
| Four to five-piece modular | 11-14 ft, 400-600 lbs | Each module carried separately; plan on a half load or more |
| U-shape sectional | 12-16 ft, 500-700 lbs | Largest common piece we haul; frequently the whole back of the truck |
| Power reclining sectional | 9-12 ft, 450-650 lbs | Motors, transformer and harness unplugged in sequence before separation |
| Sectional with sleeper section | Adds 80-150 lbs | Steel fold-out frame strapped shut before that piece is moved |
Pricing is based on the truck space your items take, and the price is confirmed on site before anything is loaded. Text photos for a fast number or book a free estimate.
Clean sectionals in good structural condition are donated, but there is a practical limit: many charities cannot place a fourteen-foot U-shape because the receiving family cannot fit it either. Two and three-piece sectionals rehome far more easily than large modular sets, and we are upfront about which is which.
Condition standards are strict on upholstery. Visible staining, pet damage, tears, smoke odor or any sign of bed bugs disqualifies a piece immediately, and a power reclining set with a dead motor is not a donation candidate even if the fabric is perfect.
What cannot be donated gets broken down. Hardwood frames go to wood recycling, steel recliner mechanisms and sleeper frames go to a Valley scrap yard, motors and transformers are separated as e-waste, and only foam and fabric are disposed of. On a 600-pound sectional that is a large share diverted from the landfill.
High-rise and mid-rise buildings are where sectional jobs get scheduled rather than squeezed in. Most Phoenix and Old Town Scottsdale buildings require a service-elevator reservation and have dock hours, and a five-module sectional means multiple elevator trips. Tell us the building at booking and we work inside those windows.
Some sectionals genuinely will not come out intact. If it was assembled in a room whose doorway was later narrowed by trim or a door frame replacement, we cut the frame down in place on a drop cloth. It is loud and it takes longer, but it is far better than pulling casing off your walls.
The realistic outcome for very large modular sets is recycling rather than donation, purely because of size. That is worth knowing before you spend three weeks trying to give it away on marketplace listings while it blocks your living room.

Yes. We release the bracket hooks, cam locks or bolt plates on site and carry each module separately, including chaise and console sections.
Yes. We unplug the transformer and disconnect the wiring harness in sequence before separating the pieces, so nothing is torn loose at a doorway.
A two-piece L-shape is usually a quarter load, a three-piece with chaise is a quarter to a half, and a large U-shape can fill half the truck or more. We confirm on site before loading.
Smaller two and three-piece sets rehome well if they are clean and structurally sound. Very large modular and U-shape sets are hard to place, so those are usually broken down for recycling.
We cut the frame down in place on a drop cloth rather than removing your door casing. It takes longer, but nothing in your home gets damaged.
Yes. Give us the building at booking so we can reserve the service elevator and schedule inside the dock hours.
Pricing depends on the size of the sectional sofa, how many pieces you have, and access at the property (stairs, elevators, tight hallways). We give a firm, no-obligation quote before we load anything, so you always know the price up front. Call or text photos of your sectional sofa for the fastest quote.
No. Our crew handles all the lifting and carrying from wherever the sectional sofa sits, including upstairs bedrooms, basements, garages, and back patios. Just point at it and we take it from there.
In most cases, yes. We keep same-day and next-day slots open across Scottsdale and the Valley. Same-day availability depends on how full the schedule is, so calling earlier in the day gives you the best chance.
We sort every load. Usable sectional sofas in good condition go to local donation partners, recyclable metal, cardboard, and electronics go to recycling facilities, and only what nobody can reuse goes to a licensed transfer station. Nothing gets dumped illegally.
We are based in Scottsdale and serve the Valley, including Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Glendale, Peoria, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, and Fountain Hills. If you are not sure whether you are in range, call and we will confirm.

Absolutely. Most customers add a few extra items once the truck is on site. We can take furniture, appliances, mattresses, electronics, yard waste, garage clutter, and general household junk in the same trip, usually for less than booking a second pickup.
